Apple Releases Whitepaper on iOS Security
Apple has released a whitepaper detailing iOS Security features for various technologies including iMessage and Touch ID.
iOS and iOS devices provide stringent security features, and they’re easy to use. Many of these features are enabled by default, so IT departments don’t need to perform extensive configurations. And key security features like device encryption are not configurable, so users can’t disable them by mistake. Other features, such as Touch ID, enhance the user experience by making it simpler and more intuitive to secure the device.
This document provides details about how security technology and features are implemented within the iOS platform. It will also help organizations combine iOS platform security technology and features with their own policies and procedures to meet their specific security needs.

Fortune's 2014 List of World's Most Admired Companies
Apple topped Fortune's list of the World's Most Admired Companies in 2014 for the seventh straight time.
Apple:
● Top 50 rank: 1
● Rank in Computers: 1 (Previous rank: 1)
● Overall score: 7.94
● Ticker:AAPL
Why it's admired:
The iconic tech company known for the iPhone and other stylish and user-friendly products is back in the top spot on this year's list, for the seventh year in a row. Apple, the most valuable brand on the planet according to Interbrand, brought in $171 billion in revenues in FY2013 and is flush with cash, but fan boys and girls (not to mention the market) are getting antsy to see its next big product. Bets are on a smartwatch or AppleTV, but the company is also reportedly turning its attention to cars and medical devices. -- Erika Fry

I0n1c Releases 'Quick and Dirty' Patch to Fix Serious SSL Vulnerability in OS X Mavericks
Stefan Esser, also known as i0n1c, has made a 'quick and dirty' patch available to fix the serious SSL vulnerability that Apple just patched in iOS but has yet to fix in OS X Mavericks.
The flaw is very serious because it totally compromises the security of SSL and allows for man in the middle attack on otherwise secure SSL connections without any warning on the client side. Unfortunately it has been discovered that this vulnerability is also present in OSX Mavericks. When you look at the following code snippet that is taken from Security.framework's sslKeyExchange.c you can spot a superfluous "goto fail;" statement. This statement is executed in all cases and completely bypasses the call to sslRawVerify. This means there is actually no verification performed on the signed server key exchange.

Evad3rs Update Evasi0n7 to Jailbreak iOS 7.0.6
The evad3rs have released an official update to evasi0n7 that brings support for jailbreaking the new iOS 7.0.6 firmware.
Apple recently released iOS 7.0.6 and iOS 6.1.6 to fix a major security issue with SSL that allowed an attacker to actively intercept your network connection and freely snoop on you.
Pod2g of the evad3rs said, "One of the worst day for Apple. Today we know that HTTPS haven't protected our credentials and privacy for 1 year, maybe more on OSX and iOS. People on public wifi networks (Sochi?), please just don't use your iOS device if it's not updated to iOS 7.0.6. Don't use your Mac Book."

Apple's unwillingness to share data hurts iAD business
According to Madison Avenue media buyers, who spoke with AdAge, Apple's unwillingness to share large amounts of consumer data is hurting its iAd business by slowing development of ad products.
It is reported that Apple doesn't have a large sales team in advertising and doesn't have official sales targets for iAd business.
Perhaps the biggest issue hindering their ad growth is that advertising is an afterthought, a blip on the balance sheet. It's still viewed by some as immaterial and potentially detrimental to the cash cows -- an ad is an impediment if it distracts a consumer from the "buy" button or mucks up a beautiful mobile app.

Apple building its own CDN – content delivery network?
As Apple continues to develop its new data centers in North Carolina, Nevada and Oregon, it could have greater plans to develop a content delivery network (CDN) to deliver content to its iTunes and iCloud users.
Analyst Dan Rayburn with Frost & Sullivan believes that Apple is looking to expand its CDN capabilities, but it isn't sure just how in-depth the system will be. Currently Apple uses Akamai and Level 3 to handle most of its distribution needs for the App Store, iTunes, and iCloud, though its data center initiative gives it a good base of operations for distributing content as well as storage for user data.
With iTunes and iCloud, Apple controls the data and the service, but must outsource the less visible and yet still incredibly important job of reliably delivering data packets to users. With hundreds of millions of users downloading apps, music, TV shows and movies, ensuring quality of service for all users will be essential.

Apple exploring induction, solar and motion charging for curved-glass iWatch
Apple is testing a variety of different charging methods for its "iWatch" smart watch project, according to a The New York Times report. At the top of Apple's list appears to be induction charging, allowing users to recharge their watches wirelessly.
For its wristwatch, Apple has been testing a method to charge the battery wirelessly with magnetic induction, according to a person briefed on the product. A similar technology is already used in some Nokia smartphones — when a phone is placed on a charging plate, an electrical current creates a magnetic field, which creates voltage that powers the phone.
Another test at Apple has involved charging the battery through movement, a method that is already used in many modern watches. A person’s arm swinging could operate a tiny charging station that generates and pushes power to the device while walking, according to a patent filed by Apple in 2009.
