Ahead of its summit in Beijing on March 27th, numerous sites posted unsubstantiated rumors that the team would release a jailbreak. As you may know the team didn't release a jailbreak; however, scammers have taken the opportunity to offer fake tools to would be jailbreakers.

TinyUmbrella Gets New Update: On-Device SHSH Fetching

TinyUmbrella has been updated with the ability to fetch SHSH blobs directly off your iPhone and iPad. Semphore notes that new feature only works with A7 and A8 devices.

I’ve just pushed the latest TinyUmbrella BETA. This version fetches the current SHSH from the device. This means that if you are running 8.1.2, it doesn’t matter if Apple is no longer signing 8.1.2, TinyUmbrella will fetch the SHSH from the device.

Stanford University researchers were stunned to find out that 11,000 people had signed up to their cardiovascular study using Apple ResearchKit, which had been announced less than 24 hours earlier.
“To get 10,000 people enrolled in a medical study normally, it would take a year and 50 medical centers around the country,” said Alan Yeung, medical director of Stanford Cardiovascular Health. “That’s the power of the phone.”

Apple will Release iOS 8.2 Today With Apple Watch Support

During its big "Spring Forward" Apple Watch event, Apple announced that it will release iOS 8.2 to the public today, with support for the upcoming Apple Watch and a range of bug fixes.
iOS 8.2 was first seeded to developers along with the WatchKit SDK back in November, allowing them to begin preparing apps for the device.

iOS 8.2 is available today as an over-the-air download.

Apple's 'ResearchKit' is Aimed at Medical Research

Apple SVP of Operations, Jeff Williams, today announced "ResearchKit", a new software framework in the vein of HomeKit and HealthKit that will turn an iPhone into "powerful diagnostic tools for medical research."
Williams mentioned multiple conditions that ResearchKit will be aimed at, including: Parkinson's, Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease, Asthma and Breast cancer. Apple also promised it "will not see your data" when reiterating on Privacy of the new ResearchKit app.

Apple Discounted Price of Apple TV to $69

Apple CEO Tim Cook on Monday at the “Spring Forward” media event in San Francisco announced that Apple TV will now cost $69, discounted from its regular price of $99.
The new price for the set-top box arrives on the heels of the announcement of HBO Now for Apple TV. The new price appears to apply to the third-generation Apple TV, as the company did not announce a new set-top box on stage at the Yerba Buena Center this afternoon.

'HBO Now' Exclusively for Apple TV

Today at Apple's special media event, HBO CEO Richard Plepler took the stage with Apple CEO Tim Cook to announce HBO Now, HBO's new standalone streaming service.
The new service is exclusive for Apple TV and other Apple devices for $14.99 a month. The service will be ready in time for the series premiere of HBO hit show Game of Thrones on April 12, and users who sign up for the service in April will receive the first month of HBO Now for free.

iOS 8.2 GM Public Release Scheduled for Next Week, Leaked Release Notes

Apple has reportedly leaked one last GM build of iOS 8.2 to employees and testers ahead of its release next week.
We reported that Apple was nearing the public release of iOS 8.2, but the company has decided to release one more GM build to employees and testers ahead of an expected launch this coming Monday. The build is 12D508 and we have also been given the official internal change log with all release notes.

Apple Watch Retail Sales Guidance Leaked

Apple's retail sales guidance that employees will use to sell the Apple Watch to customers has been leaked.
The site obtained documents that reveal Apple will focus on 'three key features' of the smartwatch and plans to encourage buyers to upgrade or switch to new iPhones. Apple apparently believes that "many customers have already decided they want an Apple Watch" and plans use the watch to "position the benefits" of purchasing a compatible iPhone.

Leaked screenshots have allegedly revealed specs for a refreshed MacBook Air.
The screenshots apparently came from a 2015 MacBook Air manufactured at Foxconn.

Looking at the system information we can see that the low-end 13-inch MacBook Air (MacBookAir7,2) features an Intel Core 1.6GHz i5-5250U processor and Intel HD Graphics 6000. The machine comes with 4GB of RAM and has a resolution of 1440x900.

The New York Times is offering more details about the Apple Watch ahead of Apple's 'Spring Forward' event on March 9th.
The watch, code-named Gizmo, was apparently a difficult engineering challenge. Apple experimented with advanced health sensors nearly two years ago but decided to drop them from the device after they proved unreliable and cumbersome.
